| Owned and managed by the Letchworth
Garden City Heritage Foundation , Standalone Farm is a model farm of 170
acres on the northern edge of Letchworth.
Standalone provides an opportunity
to learn more about rural life , farming and raising animals. Local schools
are encouraged to visit as part of the children's rural studies.

| Open daily between 11am (pre-booked
groups may be admitted from 10am) and 5pm (last admission at 4pm)
from March to September including Bank Holidays.
School parties are welcome , but they must be pre-booked with the Farm Secretary. The farm actually runs free seminars for teachers , so that they can be adequately prepared before a visit with their pupils. The farm is also popular for children's parties and bookings can be made at the farm office. |

| The Pix Brook passes through the farm and various geese and ducks can be seen in the yard around and in the pond. Also in the yard area are pigs , free range chickens and other poultry. |

| There are daily milking demonstrations featuring the farm's Jersey cows and in spring the farm's new born lambs , calves and chicks are on view , which is always popular. |

| A well equipped children's
playground is available with an adjacent picnic area, however in bad weather
there are also indoor facilities.
In fact many of the animals and attractions are protected from the weather so your visit will not be ruined by bad luck with the weather.

| If you take the farm walk
you will see sheep , cows , various breeds of goats and horses grazing
in the fields.
There is also a arboretum where 1000 trees have recently been planted , 35 different species can be seen.

There is a display of small mammals |
In the Exhibition Barn there are 70 bird specimens , mammals , animal skulls , model dinosaurs and a working beehive. Nearby are hides where wildfowl can be viewed in their natural habitat. |

During the year the farm hosts a number of craft shows and other activities and in the autumn there is a busy craft weekend at which visitors are given a last chance to see the animals before they are put into their winter accommodation. |

Free Car Park - spaces for 200 cars on grass , coaches and minibuses on hard standing area Disabled access to most areas , a wheelchair with a willing helper or powered scooter is adviseable to get the best from your visit. There is a wheelchair available and disabled facilities on the farm.
